I currently hold the position of Vice-Chairman on Boreham Parish Council. I have always lived in a village environment and been involved in village affairs and I have continued this trend since moving to Boreham over three years ago. I am married to my wife Lynn and next year we celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary, I have two daughters, Joanna who lives in East Sussex and Debora who lives in the village.
After serving an apprenticeship as a Fitter/Turner I joined the fire service, serving 33 years in London and Kent. I also spent 5 years on the staff of the fire service college in Gloustershire. During my career I attained several qualifications including B.Eng(Hons) degree. I attended many serious incidents as a fire investigator including fatal fires where finding the cause was paramount. As a senior officer I took charge of fire safety in North Kent where I led the team dealing with the Bluewater shopping centre. Leaving the fire service I moved to Dover Harbour Board producing their emergency plan, and currently I carry out fire risk assessments for a major fire protection company.
I find being on the parish council very rewarding, especially ensuring the village moves forward and looks to the future. This includes helping to keep Boreham a village as villagers want it to be
